MSM powder - the 4in1 beauty all-rounder
What is MSM powder?
The abbreviation MSM stands for methylsulfonylmethane, also known as dimethylsulfone - quite a tongue twister, isn't it? 😅
MSM is a purely natural sulfur compound that also occurs in this form in our body. The body's own sulfur content is around 0.2 percent.
But what does sulfur actually do in our body?
With regard to the activity of the entire hormonal balance, sulfur plays a decisive role. In addition, the mineral is elementary in the production of enzymes and essential amino acids. In addition, sulfur is also involved in the formation of collagen and is a valuable "supporter" of the immune system. Last but not least, sulfur also influences the structure of proteins and enzymes in the human body.
So you see, sulfur is essential in the human body.
However, a sulfur deficiency can occur as a result of physical stress, sport, malnutrition and/or illness. In addition to health symptoms such as exhaustion and a weakened immune system, this can also lead to "beauty problems" such as brittle nails, dull, lackluster hair and weakened connective tissue.
In addition, the powder is said to have an anti-inflammatory effect, which is why it is also recommended for those suffering from chronic inflammation, such as arthritis.
How is the MSM powder used?
As a 4in1 beauty all-rounder, the MSM powder can be used in many ways, both externally and internally.
You can use it for a wide range of areas, such as health, beauty and well-being. It is easy to use, very effective, completely natural and vegan, i.e. a real superfood.
dietary supplements
To compensate for a sulfur deficiency, you can take MSM as a dietary supplement, among other things. Since it has a slightly bitter taste, it is best to cover it up with smoothies, fruity bowls or juices. The recommended daily intake is about half a teaspoon.
Here is an example of an MSM Berry Smoothie Bowl
For the bowl you need:
• 150g raspberries
• 100 ml plant drink (e.g. oat milk)
• 2 teaspoons almond butter
• 1/2 banana
• 1g MSM powder
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For the topping you will need:
• 1/2 banana
• 1 tsp chia seeds
• 1 teaspoon mixed sesame
• 1 teaspoon grated coconut
Simply mix all bowl ingredients with a blender until they have a creamy consistency. Then sprinkle with the toppings and enjoy.
External use
MSM powder can also be a real helper for skin, hair and nails.
conditioner
MSM is great as conditioner. For this can you simply mix 1 tablespoon of MSM powder with 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Now distribute it in your hair, avoiding your roots. Finally, after 30 minutes of me-time, you can wash it off.
Face mask and peeling
To use MSM as a face mask, you can simply mix 1 tablespoon of the powder with 1 teaspoon of coconut or olive oil. Then spread this paste over your face (avoid mouth and eye area). Now relax for about 15 minutes, after which you can rinse off the mask with clear water.
If you massage it in in a circular motion and then rinse it off again, the sugar-like grains of the powder also have a peeling effect on your skin. Since the grit is not too coarse, you can use it 1-2 times a week.
bath additive
It couldn't be easier: you only need to add about 3 tablespoons of MSM powder to your bath water and then you can relax as usual.
After the bath, rinse off the skin well and enjoy its suppleness.
nail butter
Unfortunately, especially in winter, we often suffer from brittle nails.
Half a teaspoon of MSM powder mixed with half a teaspoon of olive oil and a teaspoon of coconut oil as DIY nail butter can help here.
Spread the butter on the nails and cuticles well and massage in.
Leave on for at least 10 minutes and then rinse off.
Hand and foot bath
Mix 1 tablespoon MSM powder with 1 tablespoon oil of your choice in a bowl and add lukewarm water.
Then you can put your hands or feet in the bath for 10 minutes and relax. Then rinse thoroughly.
So you see, regular use of the powder can change things in your body for the better. Curious?
