INFUSED WATER - THE GENTLE ESSENCE OF NATURE
Our infused water is natural hydrolates - obtained through the gentle steam distillation of high-quality plants. This creates essential oils on the one hand and water-soluble ingredients on the other, which are captured in these pure plant waters. The result is a versatile, natural product that pampers skin, hair and senses: our infused water! Thanks to their gentle formulation, the hydrolates are perfect as a facial toner, body spray or hair mist. They balance the pH value of the skin, soothe irritations and provide moisture. In hair care, it moisturizes the scalp, reduces dryness and gives the hair a natural shine. A few sprays on the pillow or in the bath water develop the aromatherapeutic effect and promote well-being. Find out more about the possible applications in the "Applications" tab or further down on this page.

- Why are there so many warnings?
-
The warnings for essential oils are so detailed because they are highly concentrated plant extracts that can pose health risks if used incorrectly:
High concentration:
Essential oils are extremely concentrated substances. Several kilograms of plant material are often required to produce a single drop. This concentration makes them potent, but also potentially irritating if applied undiluted to the skin or used in excessive amounts.Skin and mucous membrane irritation:
Some oils, such as citrus oils or peppermint, can irritate the skin or even cause allergic reactions if not sufficiently diluted. Therefore, packaging must warn of potential skin irritations.Photosensitivity:
Certain oils, such as bergamot or lemon, increase the skin's sensitivity to light. After application, direct sunlight should be avoided to prevent skin damage.Toxicity if taken incorrectly:
Many essential oils are not suitable for internal use because they can be toxic in high doses. Even small amounts can cause gastrointestinal upset, liver damage, or other health problems.Danger for children, pregnant women and pets:
Certain oils are unsuitable for small children, pregnant women, and pets. Lavender, tea tree, and eucalyptus, for example, can cause respiratory problems in young children. Therefore, warnings must be specifically directed at sensitive groups.Flammability:
Essential oils are highly flammable, so instructions for storage away from open flames and heat sources are required.Environmental protection:
Some essential oils are toxic to aquatic organisms, so proper disposal is important, which must also be indicated on the label.Legal requirements:
In the EU and many other countries, strict regulations apply to the labeling of cosmetic and flavoring products. These include the CLP (Classification, Labeling and Packaging) Regulation and the REACH Regulation, which require detailed labeling of all potential hazards. - If ethereals are toxic to aquatic organisms, how can this be reconciled with environmentally friendly cosmetics?
-
Essential oils in their pure, concentrated form are actually toxic to aquatic organisms. At first glance, this may seem contradictory to the philosophy of environmentally friendly cosmetics, but – as is often the case – it all depends on the dose and responsible use.
In cosmetic applications, essential oils are used in a highly diluted form, which means that the concentration is so low that they have no harmful effects on the environment. After use, for example when showering or washing hands, the oils enter the wastewater, are further diluted there and biodegraded in sewage treatment plants. In these diluted quantities, they pose no threat to the ecological balance. They are also biodegradable if they do not enter waterways directly in concentrated form. This means that the responsibility lies primarily in correct use. This is why warnings are placed on the packaging that refer to the pure, undiluted oil.
Leftovers should not be disposed of via wastewater, but rather via household waste, where they can be safely broken down in the cycle. When used properly, our Ethereals are therefore absolutely compatible with a sustainable lifestyle. They offer natural care, free from synthetic additives, microplastics or environmentally harmful chemicals.
