After use, for example when showering or washing hands, the oils enter the wastewater, are further diluted there and biodegraded in sewage treatment plants. In these diluted quantities, they pose no threat to the ecological balance. They are also biodegradable if they do not enter waterways directly in concentrated form. This means that the responsibility lies primarily in correct use. This is why warnings are placed on the packaging that refer to the pure, undiluted oil.
